There was plenty of bubbly to go with the food as everyone reminisced but also discussed the future with Karen at the helm at Oad Street.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYfJbXlGidz-FFBADakXITP6OjtJef_GiNN5bEc7MUhl4z70HFO5SyLzkNX2yFkb-AEWBCDlj0L7Q97iEzU5Ub1PN8oqje1mlJsdyGHZxtAq7Yl7FcJsIvlH5Ynd-S5WFXHfvhjYO9ZUSy/s800/IMG_20210829_132120+%2528800x600%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="600" data-original-width="800" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYfJbXlGidz-FFBADakXITP6OjtJef_GiNN5bEc7MUhl4z70HFO5SyLzkNX2yFkb-AEWBCDlj0L7Q97iEzU5Ub1PN8oqje1mlJsdyGHZxtAq7Yl7FcJsIvlH5Ynd-S5WFXHfvhjYO9ZUSy/s320/IMG_20210829_132120+%2528800x600%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">We look forward to many more memories being made after the move.</div><br /><p><br /></p>infohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18147501440300575251noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2409485922784863255.post-20930457656284020382021-08-18T05:53:00.000-07:002021-08-18T05:53:16.002-07:00Make The Most Of It.<p>The horses were out on the roads of Sutton Valence this week doing their early pre-training before the move to Oad Street next month. We hope the villagers make the most of this iconic sight as it approaches the end after several happy decades.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT1R5ZYs0ZHUlojr9BeMXzvvRLoHDWs2CQBUO_JV1xhPbehGvHpnh-pvqsaWlYYoh0wzP6zhjH1U5TYAP6CLtQbFfQaQWJq7xhM6ZnDweDodqCGktvsiLrwiXthshfU-Kvm8xU9YSy1DZ2/s1600/IMG-20210817-WA0001.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhT1R5ZYs0ZHUlojr9BeMXzvvRLoHDWs2CQBUO_JV1xhPbehGvHpnh-pvqsaWlYYoh0wzP6zhjH1U5TYAP6CLtQbFfQaQWJq7xhM6ZnDweDodqCGktvsiLrwiXthshfU-Kvm8xU9YSy1DZ2/s320/IMG-20210817-WA0001.jpg" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>infohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18147501440300575251noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2409485922784863255.post-59196589914062340742021-07-23T09:16:00.003-07:002021-07-23T09:18:42.343-07:00Making The Right Moves.<p>For some time Linda has been looking to move from Southfield Stables. The increase in traffic on South Lane has made it more dangerous for the horses to exercise and some of the facilities are in need of an upgrade. The opportunity to move the operation to John Best's yard at Oad Street came up and she has decided to take it. She has known John for many years and they get on well. There is plenty of room at the purpose built training establishment for both of them and the future looks exciting.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCMxeNed2Z97jzIfqMxv1jd83TaRLuHNKzFJBy-tKYHBc4zIhMTU-T0P8r45jwHTDZfO8qkhF9mLDpjm6f-PZQp88EzzzfAxrO8dRwPOQjgg-0L0C2sQn8HrDPI1BqF70x53QiE1z6Ixgz/s330/98d600_c2ca2a9e4a7b48b58ed60377a80a2d20_mv2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="227" data-original-width="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhCMxeNed2Z97jzIfqMxv1jd83TaRLuHNKzFJBy-tKYHBc4zIhMTU-T0P8r45jwHTDZfO8qkhF9mLDpjm6f-PZQp88EzzzfAxrO8dRwPOQjgg-0L0C2sQn8HrDPI1BqF70x53QiE1z6Ixgz/s320/98d600_c2ca2a9e4a7b48b58ed60377a80a2d20_mv2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio4GnmCIC30tYMKS4mNOe1zSQo3AeInvoLkVJmZ2fPO1U5Hbm0ooAlOkIhvRhSN7l76mTlxK_02D8TiYtgK2CXWWZ5b5oSdufGjYs63P9l0J32qFmIrv7xOYU6ZFNZrg6uuugAbhd5Q3dh/s330/98d600_0fb6df6eea864abbbdb26c35e2e20bd4_mv2.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="227" data-original-width="330" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEio4GnmCIC30tYMKS4mNOe1zSQo3AeInvoLkVJmZ2fPO1U5Hbm0ooAlOkIhvRhSN7l76mTlxK_02D8TiYtgK2CXWWZ5b5oSdufGjYs63P9l0J32qFmIrv7xOYU6ZFNZrg6uuugAbhd5Q3dh/s320/98d600_0fb6df6eea864abbbdb26c35e2e20bd4_mv2.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">Linda has started to take some of her owners up to look around.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbUG8XcmDgBfoUTFipPDit9U_BlMO0XvQ-Rbt-HDRq8T3XAjykv3eD_2eOELgtlhKaKH_qVC3GqDXkXsWcw4ASuCa2cXnpoTHV0vw7IK9rCamwmtoazGGiHjvoh3oe10byMbWL5farYdx8/s1024/IMG-20210723-WA0000.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="768" data-original-width="1024" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjbUG8XcmDgBfoUTFipPDit9U_BlMO0XvQ-Rbt-HDRq8T3XAjykv3eD_2eOELgtlhKaKH_qVC3GqDXkXsWcw4ASuCa2cXnpoTHV0vw7IK9rCamwmtoazGGiHjvoh3oe10byMbWL5farYdx8/s320/IMG-20210723-WA0000.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">When the horses come back in, and it will be soon, they will go to Southfield for their pre-training before being moved up to the new yard when work starts in earnest.</div><br /><p> </p><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>infohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18147501440300575251noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2409485922784863255.post-25442269194882722982021-07-20T10:44:00.003-07:002021-07-20T10:44:28.691-07:00More Experience.<p>Oliver had his second ride as an amateur today at Wolverhampton. He rode Meryems Way and held a midfield position until the final 2 furlongs. The horse was eased when beaten and finished 12th of 13. It was open to non-stable connections as well and attracted five teams. The stable had a team and an offshoot of the old stable team set up separately (The Absentees). It proved to be a close contest with the stable team leading right up to the final component, "the connecting wall". As Malcolm Fitzjohn of the stable team said, <i><b>"<span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: inherit;">Brilliant festive entertainment. </span><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: inherit;">I think we were hampered badly at the wall but stayed on our
feet and recovered well for a place. </span></b></i><span style="background-color: white; color: #222222; font-family: inherit;"><i><b>It will take some time to recover from what was a tough race." </b></i> They finished joint second with The Absentees staying on to win.</span></p><p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="background-color: white;">The Connecting Wall is one of the rounds on BBC2's Only Connect. You have to arrange 16 words into 4 groups of 4 with a common link in each. Here is one that was not in the Christmas quiz.</span></span></p><p><span style="color: #222222; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b>Carol Diana Pig Stable</b></span></span></p><p><span style="color: #222222; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b>Barn Elephant Solomon Hand</b></span></span></p><p><span style="color: #222222; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b>Field Donkey Herod Jonathan</b></span></span></p><p><span style="color: #222222; font-size: medium;"><span style="background-color: white;"><b>Sheep Dave BB Pen</b></span></span></p><p><span style="color: #222222;"><span style="background-color: white;">This is only for fun, no prizes. The opposition was very stiff but with one of the runners unseating its rider it meant he finished third and earned some useful prize money. Although beaten a long way in this first outing after a wind op, we learnt more about the horse.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD8jK0SgP8uRiV4-LohzgQm_HXELK3164vTCW3oifHjT1UUWi0kGgFpPS9tdVwVw3S-dmD1XEGseM7N38T287a-IhiN4lcNcKhJlnopDJUp1nrEe9IamOCKAXb1EmuA8Tg_icWnzxrwq70/s359/Snapshot+2+%252811-15-2020+6-55+PM%2529+%25282%2529.png" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="255" data-original-width="359" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD8jK0SgP8uRiV4-LohzgQm_HXELK3164vTCW3oifHjT1UUWi0kGgFpPS9tdVwVw3S-dmD1XEGseM7N38T287a-IhiN4lcNcKhJlnopDJUp1nrEe9IamOCKAXb1EmuA8Tg_icWnzxrwq70/s320/Snapshot+2+%252811-15-2020+6-55+PM%2529+%25282%2529.png" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>infohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18147501440300575251noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2409485922784863255.post-34364081902950876452020-11-14T14:07:00.000-08:002020-11-14T14:07:30.197-08:00Experience The Thrill of The Hill Gallop.<p> You can share the thrill of riding up the hill gallop with this video taken by Karen.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><iframe allowfullscreen='allowfullscreen' webkitallowfullscreen='webkitallowfullscreen' mozallowfullscreen='mozallowfullscreen' width='320' height='266' src='https://www.blogger.com/video.g?token=AD6v5dyfPlTFgSyVkEm4Q16YuO8yvfpoA3ci4vQkjDd6M_JugR-pWIevy9j7o_l7aPw7wi3GVHhwKgE8iKK4ocGRTw' class='b-hbp-video b-uploaded' frameborder='0'></iframe></div><br /><p><br /></p>infohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18147501440300575251noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2409485922784863255.post-81220988305877766722020-10-22T04:58:00.000-07:002020-10-22T04:58:01.094-07:00Winning Celebration.<p>One of Clonusker Lady's owners, Samantha Haughton, was visiting to see her horse today and she very kindly brought some fizz, smoked salmon on home baked bread and cakes to celebrate Hab Sab's recent win. It all went down very well with the staff and one other Clonusker Lady owner who was there. Thank you Samantha.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwOWY8ObGKFmPErnyAFEAju74B7cpbHJzGQemjJOopkS1d_d5TpxcAVzgipcC5DZ4tdKRL5YSP9WZ-jQwVfidO1T-q8Z88jZwwqfUBJEGzX6oQpRoRJkmhQsL2Gczdcr7fQ9TargTMHdGB/s2048/DSCN3535.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwOWY8ObGKFmPErnyAFEAju74B7cpbHJzGQemjJOopkS1d_d5TpxcAVzgipcC5DZ4tdKRL5YSP9WZ-jQwVfidO1T-q8Z88jZwwqfUBJEGzX6oQpRoRJkmhQsL2Gczdcr7fQ9TargTMHdGB/s320/DSCN3535.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p><br /></p>infohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18147501440300575251noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2409485922784863255.post-37598407281801546302020-10-20T09:48:00.003-07:002020-10-20T09:48:43.323-07:00The Morning After.<p> The hard working staff and Hab Sab are all thrilled with his win.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfBF6qfzFqe5e7dXhHjH1KwT4UFiGwq6QmULEysXC1qxSncP2OQJqkccRKap5kdbhp3d-WP2rfEUwZ2NL-JreoQr6i5Pfo_6a_eBM8wECF4pgVZSxYHn4DLBlv4yh3_q2IiSNa5Zhzt5Mz/s777/IMG-20201020-WA0001+%2528777x511%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="511" data-original-width="777" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgfBF6qfzFqe5e7dXhHjH1KwT4UFiGwq6QmULEysXC1qxSncP2OQJqkccRKap5kdbhp3d-WP2rfEUwZ2NL-JreoQr6i5Pfo_6a_eBM8wECF4pgVZSxYHn4DLBlv4yh3_q2IiSNa5Zhzt5Mz/s320/IMG-20201020-WA0001+%2528777x511%2529.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>infohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/18147501440300575251noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2409485922784863255.post-67588185829045640572020-10-19T07:22:00.006-07:002020-10-19T07:51:28.997-07:00Repeat Performance.<p><b>Hab Sab </b>continued where he left off when Covid ended racing in the spring by winning a 2 and a half mile handicap chase at Plumpton today. Jockey Dave Crosse employed the same tactics as before by taking Hab Sab to the front at the first fence and making all.
